SOTA / GMA

Ich wandere gern und ich funke gern. Was liegt da näher als beide Hobbys miteinander zu verbinden? Im Jahr 2002 haben sich begeisterte „wandernde“ Funkamateure aus England und Wales zusammengeschlossen und ein Amateurfunkdiplom-Programm ins Leben gerufen. Das SOTA-Programm (Summit on Air = Gipfel auf Sendung) ist heute das bekannteste Bergaktivierungsprogramm und wird in vielen Ländern gelebt. In Deutschland wurde im April 2012 ein eigenes Aktivierungsprogramm, das GMA (German Mountain Award)  geründet.

Grundgedanke ist es, eine Funkausrüstung auf der Wanderung mitzunehmen und vom Gipfel aus Funkverbindungen herzustellen. Wer mehr dazu erfahren will, dem seien die Seiten der SOTA und GMA empfohlen.
